Galileo's Night

Galileo, Painter 11 19"x13.5"

Here's a recent Illustration that I worked on recently for a unit on astronomers. It's a painting of the famous Italian astronomer Galileo.  It was a lot of fun to work on. I'm fascinated by this particular filed of science as well as the history of  pioneering thinkers like Galileo.  It's odd to think how rudimentary his telescope was and how far he advanced the observation of the universe. Anywho, enjoy the image.

Here's my original drawing that I did on humble old paper with a #2 pencil that I found under my couch.  I used a statue of the astronomer for reference.
