IF: Tales and Legends

acrylic on Illustration board

Luckily I had an assignment in my Illustration class that could double as this weeks subject. I was coming up with a story about a woodsman who talks to animals and defends the forest against this evil knight. Yep not too original, but it should produce some cool illustrations.

Plain White Bread for Illustration Friday

pen and ink on paper

Few joys in this world match that of a simple plain white piece of bread, especially if you occupy the realm of the corpulent.

A Cornwell Pirate

Photobucket
Oil on Masonite 18"x 24"

I painted this color reproduction of a Pirate originally done by one of my personal heroes, Dean Cornwell. The original is in Black and white with a group on a ship. I just colorized one of his characters to see how he painted. It's a good way to find your own style. Cornwell was the master of this genre, and his murals are beyond amazing. Go look him up if you haven't already had the pleasure.
